How do you handle late arrivals in your park? Once the office is closed for the day, do you have late arrivals come in and pick out their own site and use a drop box, or do you greet them in person no matter what time they arrive and check them in? Additionally, do you answer your phones 24 hours a day or rely on voice mail during non-office hours?

For people with reservations we try to stay up to escort then to their spot, but sometimes it gets just too late. We leave a park map and instruction on the door and they register in the AM. For people without reservations we have instructions posted on the door to find an available spot and check in in the morning. It feels very impersonal, but after all we already work 18 hrs a day 7 days a week, a person needs to sleep sometime. We ocassionally have people that think they can sneak out real early and not pay, but my Husband is a very early riser and usually catches them on the way out.
We do not answer the phones after we go to bed either. I do keep the office open and answer the phone until we go to bed.

For those with reservations we put a packet with their name on it on the front door, they get an escort usually - our full timers who also work here pick em up at the front gate when they see them come in.
The owners cell # is on the front door for walkins. They check in in the am, but the owner gives em an escort thru the gate and to their spot whatever time it is.

Anyone that has a resevation that hasn't showed up before the office closes will have a map with their name on it for their site. We do not have a drop box but ask guests to register the next morning.

In the morning we go through the park and check parking passes and give a reminder ticket to those that came in late to go to the office and get a pass.
We have a camp host close to the entrance that can escort late arrivals and a security guard on the weekends as well that can escort after hours.

We rely on an answering machine for the after hours calls but will pick up if it's a call after 1AM as these are usually only some type of emergency.
