    Default trouble networking computers

I have have two computers networked for years now and all of a sudden the remote computer (at the house) will not connect to the network.
I have checked IP address, Port number, Passwords and firewalls and all seem to be in order. I have rebooted both computers and now I am baffled. ANy idea of what to check next?

You didn't mention what the connection error was -- is it saying "Verify the IP and port settings..."? Or something else?

Was there any change to the IP address?

Are they both on the same local area network (e.g. using the same router)?

Did you install any new software since it last worked?

Can you Ping the master from the slave, using the Ping command in a Command Prompt?

I have been fighting this problem for days, but just now when I tried again, so I can tell you the error message, it connected. I did nothing different. I guess my computer was just being petulant. Sorry to bother you.

Good to hear. I wish all of the issues were that easy to solve.
