Wait List Trigger after cancellation

Hi All,

Perhaps I'm even missing something already available in the software, but I'm curious if anyone has created any custom actions that would trigger a notice to the user of a reservation sitting on the wait list, after cancelling a reservation that covered the same dates, thereby creating new availability for someone on the wait list?

How do others utilize the wait list functionality?

There isn't any "notification" function in the software for that. Potentially you could create a script to be called from an Event action (Reservation canceled) -- it would have to look through all reservations to see if there's a wait-listed reservation for the appropriate dates. However what we normally recommend is that you just check the "Non-reserved" tab for waiting-list reservations on those dates any time you cancel someone.


Also note that if your waiting-list reservations to NOT have a site assigned yet, then they will show on the Rack on any empty cells (as "No Site:#") if you have the options selected on the Rack Options (Show Unassigned reservation counts and Include Waiting List reservations). In that case when you cancel someone and they disappear from the Rack you could see that there is someone waiting for a site on those dates.

Ah, yes! Adding the wait list reservations to the unassigned reservation count will do the trick perfectly. I'd like to lighten the font color for the empty cells that show "No Site:#" so it isn't quite so distracting for the user. I'm trying to adjust the Global Color Scheme for the open sites with unassigned reservations using the following, but I can't seem to get things working properly. Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

You don't need to create a color scheme -- just change the color on the color key -- look for the "Reservation, Site Unassigned", right-click on it to change colors.
