Default Importing CM to quickbooks online

I have been using campground master and QB desktop for years. I switched to quickbooks online which does not support iff format. Is there a way to import my CM into QB online? It does accept CSV format, but I have no idea how the mapping works. There are some third party programs to import iff to QBO but they seem pretty sketchy. Does anyone know of a safe one if that is the only option?

    Thanks

From what we've seen, the CSV importing to QB online would not support the necessary functionality. So we don't know of any way to import from CM to QB online.

Ok, I believe you are correct. I downloaded quickbooks 2019 desktop in an attempt to revert back to a desktop version so I can import. I tranferred my QB online account into it. I then re-exported my iff and re-entered all my mappings. When I brought it in I got the following error message from Quickbooks which happened on all 226 entries as they all have an A/R entry and are split.

[ERROR] The record at (or starting at) this line could not be imported. There was an error when saving a SalesReceipt. QuickBooks error message: Transaction split lines to accounts receivable must include a customer on that split line. [3180]

I think this is because CM does not export a customer attached to the AR entries. It appears this new version of quickbooks will not let you import unless there is a customer attached to AR entries. Although it appears Campground Master Sales is that customer which I have setup in Quickbooks.

Is this the way you see it Stan or am I doing something wrong.

I wonder if i just import using general journal entries instead of cash sales if this will circumvent this issue.

We don't recommend using the General Journal entries.

This is the first I've heard of an error regarding the A/R like you mentioned.

The IIF you showed does have the customer name in the line, and that's the way Campground Master exports it already.

One possibility is that when you set up the new QB, the Customer "Campground Master Sales" was not created, or was not created as the correct type of customer. (If it's not there before you import the FIRST time, QB creates it but it's not right).

I would try deleting that customer from QB, then create a new one (using a different name, and of course change the CM export setup to use the new name).

Ok, I did that, but with the same results. It almost seems like it is not picking up on the customer name. Here is the error I got this time. I changed the account to Daily Sales in CM, I made a new customer in QB called Daily Sales and deleted Campground Master Sales. I re exported the IFF from CM and Reimported into QB. Again every line with an A/R entry failed.

Any more suggestions? Is it possible this is a QB 2019 issue????

This may be an issue with QB 2019. everything looks like it's exporting properly.

Is there any way you can go back to an older version?

I will see if an older version will work. I did import the general journal entries and it worked. Why do you not recommend that method?

The General Journal method does not transfer as much information (like "Item" information if you mapped those), and may not result in the same kind of reporting. A/R isn't exported as a separate item -- ALL entries go through A/R as a + or - to A/R. And it's also more difficult to "redo" an export -- have to find and delete each journal entry instead of a single Sales receipt.
